Political Fundamentalism
Political Philosophies, Conceptual Backgrounds, and Musing of Fundamentalism
When approaching questions of substance, whether they be metaphysical, political, spiritual, or simple, a framework through which we analyze our world is required. Such a framework creates a solid foundation on which we are able to build our thoughts clearly, with robust and detailed consideration. Without this foundation, it becomes more challenging to build a concise argument as shifting opinions and beliefs create potentially conflicting or specious arguments. This is not to say it is impossible to form opinions without a base, but rather a firm base allows for simplified and consistent analysis. The key to this is grounding yourself in the basics, attempting to limit potentially confounding variables and accepting various sources of information while crafting your theory. This, in essence, is the concept of political fundamentalism.
Here, we seek to introduce the concepts and tenants of fundamentalism, and explore and refine its application to politics. While this theory could be applied to any system of government, we will likely spend most of our time exploring it from an American perspective, using fundamentalism to explore and analyze various issues surrounding modern politics and offering an alternative approach. Of course this does not necessarily mean this philosophy is correct. It is merely another approach, and one that we believe is a refreshing alternative to conventional approaches.
